Hey there!
こんにちは .
First contact with art
I'm an 18 year-old student from Germany and I love art for years!
It began when I was like 12-13 years old. I was intensely influenced by the "good old anime series" like Dragon Ball (Z), Digimon, Pokemon and One Piece.
This caused that I wanted to try to draw these awesome figures. So this was my first time I dealt with art and the period reached like 3 years with more or less long breaks. In this time I also bought the Faco Comic Pack by Wacom.
Fortuity or Fate?
Then, how the fate wanted it, I saw an offer on eBay with an easel, a brush-set, some acrylic or oil colours as well as a palette and some canvases. I thought maybe I could also paint Manga with this, so I ordered it with acrylic colours because they seemed to have some advantages and more suitable for beginners (of course the quality wasn't very good, but in fact I didn't know about it and it gave the impact to keep traditional painting with acrylic colours).
My first painting was like...painted by a child. I was disappointed because it was very difficult to paint realistic paintings.
But I kept learning with videos, internet and books and I improved more and more and I got to different subjects like landscapes, still lifes, animals, portraits, abstract art, action painting, etc.
Rising action
Since this point I got more and more interested in art. I bought pastel colours, loved the art class in school, visited museums, bought more and more books, read very much on the internet about art in practice and in theory and I loved to look at the traditional paintings by the old masters.
So, this is me. I even classify myself into the beginner section because I still have to learn a lot!
My goal is to find my own style and to draw and paint what I want to.
Completing this text, a short quote by Picasso:
"Um zu wissen, was man zeichnen will, muss man zu zeichnen anfangen." (Picasso)
Like that in english:
"In order to know what to draw, you have to begin drawing." (Picasso)
